Sabac Swim Marathon in Serbia, fourth race of the
2007 FINA Open Water Grand Prix, will take place
next Sunday, on July 15, 2007. 36 swimmers from 17
countries (22 men and 14 women) will compete in
this 19km race. The three leaders of the men’s
general standings, Damian Blaum (ARG), first with
42 points, Alexander Studzinski (GER), second with
31 points, and Petar Stoychev (BUL) third with 24

USA becomes
a triple World League
champion
The mighty United
States of America has claimed its third FINA
World League women’s water polo crown in four
years with an 8-4 victory over Australia at Parc
Jean Drapeau her tonight.
In direct
contrast to the bronze-medal match, USA
methodically rammed through the quarters to
secure the trophy against a determined
Australia, known as the Aussie Stingers.

The 12th FINA World Championships, held from
March 17-April 1, 2007 in Melbourne (AUS)
generated a total of 756’793 visits to the FINA
website (www.fina.org) during this period. This
total gives a daily average of 47’299 visits
during the championships. Moreover, viewers from
166 countries worldwide were interested in
following the news coming from Melbourne and in
discovering other information in FINA’s website.
Across the two weeks of the competitions,
there is a clear difference between the traffic
of the first week (without swimming) and of the
second seven days (which included the swimming
programme). In the first case (March 17-24), the
highest peak was reached on March 22 (34’190
visits), while March 26, 2007 (second day of
swimming) was the busiest day in our website
with a total of 80’843 visits.

Teams from Saudi
Arabia, Algeria, Iran, Morocco, Tunisia, Kenya,
Porto Rico, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, South
Korea, and Kuwait take part in the
tournament.
